On 22 April 2025, a horrific terror attack took place in Baisaran Valley, Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 tourists lost their lives and more than 20 people were injured. This attack is considered to be the deadliest on civilians in recent years.

Victims: Mainly Hindu tourists. Attackers came out of the jungle and fired indiscriminately at the tourists.
प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के अनुसार, हमलावरों ने पीड़ितों से उनका नाम और धर्म पूछा, और कुछ को इस्लामी कलमा पढ़ने को कहा। जो ऐसा नहीं कर पाए, उन्हें गोली मार दी गई।
एक स्थानीय मुस्लिम पोनी ऑपरेटर, सैयद आदिल हुसैन, ने पर्यटकों को बचाने की कोशिश में अपनी जान गंवा दी।
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers asked the victims for their names and religion, and asked some to recite the Islamic Kalma. Those who failed to do so were shot dead. A local Muslim pony operator, Syed Adil Hussain, lost his life trying to save the tourists.
जांच और जिम्मेदारी (Investigation and responsibility)
हमले की प्रारंभिक जिम्मेदारी’द रेजिस्टेंस फ्रंट’ (TRF) ने उठाया, जो लश्कर-ए-तैयबा से संबंधित माना जाता है। चार दिन के बाद TRF ने अपनी ओर से ऐलान किया कि उनका कम्युनिकेशन हैकर्स ने हैक कर लिया था और वे जिम्मेदारी से इनकार करते हैं।
The initial responsibility for the attack was claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), believed to be affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. Four days later, TRF announced that their communications had been compromised by hackers and denied responsibility.

Indian investigative agencies have identified Pakistan-based terrorists as the main behind the attack.Based on digital suggestions, the attackers were based in Muzaffarabad and Karsh in Pakistan.Sketches of three suspected terrorists—Asif Fauji (Musa), Suleman Shah (Yunus), and Abu Talha (Asif)—have been released.

India downgraded diplomatic relations with Pakistan, suspended the Indus Water Treaty, and closed cross-border trade and visa services. - राष्ट्रीय जांच एजेंसी (NIA) ने जांच शुरू की, जम्मू-कश्मीर पुलिस ने संदिग्धों की जानकारी देने वालों के लिए ₹60 लाख का इनाम घोषित किया।
