The inconsistency has been pointed out by Congress party leaders, and an explanation is in demand from the minister. In turn, the Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri, strongly denied the allegations leveled against him, calling them baseless and political in nature.
The Union minister has also retorted against the comments made against him by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and has denied any wrongdoing while stating that the opposition is trying to create unnecessary controversy.
